چکیده
Abstract Mahan Mitra (Mj) proved Cannon–Thurston maps exist for normal hyperbolic subgroups of a group (Mitra in Topology, 37(3):527–538, 1998). We prove that do not infinite non-hyperbolic $${{\,\textrm{CAT}\,}}(0)$$ CAT ( 0 ) groups with isolated flats respect to the visual boundaries. also show infinite-index flats. obtain structure theorem these settings and outer automorphism have no purely atoroidal $$\mathbb {Z}^2$$ Z 2 subgroups.

Quasi-flats in Semihyperbolic Groups
We prove that the Cayley graph of a group which is semihyperbolic but not hyperbolic contains a subset quasi-isometric to R2.
متن کاملFlats in Riemannian Submersions from Lie Groups
We prove that any base space of Riemannian submersion from a compact Lie group (with bi-invariant metric) must have a basic property previously known for normal biquotients; namely, any zero-curvature plane exponentiates to a flat.
متن کاملDimension groups for interval maps
With each piecewise monotonic map τ of the unit interval, a dimension triple is associated. The dimension triple, viewed as a Z[t, t−1] module, is finitely generated, and generators are identified. Dimension groups are computed for Markov maps, unimodal maps, multimodal maps, and interval exchange maps. It is shown that the dimension group defined here is isomorphic to K0(A), where A is a C*-al...
متن کاملRegular maps with nilpotent automorphism groups
According to a folklore result, every regular map on an orientable surface with abelian automorphism group belongs to one of three infinite families of maps with one or two vertices. Here we deal with regular maps whose automorphism group is nilpotent. We show that each such map decomposes into a direct product of two maps H×K, where Aut(H) is a 2-group and K is a map with a single vertex and a...
متن کاملlipschitz groups and lipschitz maps
this contribution mainly focuses on some aspects of lipschitz groups, i.e., metrizable groups with lipschitz multiplication and inversion map. in the main result it is proved that metric groups, with a translation-invariant metric, may be characterized as particular group objects in the category of metric spaces and lipschitz maps. moreover, up to an adjustment of the metric, a...
